Over the past several weeks, we have been exploring light and sound. We started with sound! Students learned how sound travels, investigated how to MAKE or hear sound, and used tuning forks and cup phones to test out different sounds.
Then we began investigating light. Students discovered how light needs a source. They photographed different lights sources around the classroom and found transparent, dull, shiny, and opaque objects. We also explored how light interacts with certain objects such as mirrors, colored lenses, and our hands.
Next we will start designing a model using light and sound to communicate over a distance!
